African governments, keeping a sizable active military force has been vital in tackling some of the challenges mentioned above.

While the size of a country's military is not the only factor determining its strength, a large and well-organized active military force may have a considerable impact on a country's security, economy, and regional power.

To counter dangers like terrorism, separatist movements, and cross-border incursions, several African nations have depended on their substantial armed forces.

In a continent where resource disputes are not uncommon a strong military acts as a deterrent to foreign threats.

Nations with a large military force are better positioned to protect their sovereignty and deter aggressive acts by neighboring nations or foreign players.

This deterrent effect contributes to promoting peace and stability in conflict-prone regions.

Additionally, African countries with large active militaries often contribute significantly to international and regional peacekeeping missions.

For instance, nations like Rwanda, Kenya, and Ghana have gained recognition for their contributions to United Nations and African Union peacekeeping efforts.
